The All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended its hand of generosity on Wednesday donating five million naira to victims of Friday’s bomb blast at the Kano Central Mosque.
The APC National Chairman, John Oyegun, announced the donation when he paid a condolence visit to
Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso at the Government House, Kano.
Oyegun said the party deemed it necessary to donate the token in order to support the victims of the most unfortunate incident.
“I want, to on behalf of the APC, to convey a truly heartfelt condolence and sympathy to the government and people of Kano State over the sad incident.
“We share your grief and the people of Kano over the sad and unfortunate event. We wish to make a token donation of five million naira in support of the victims of the blast,’’ he said.
He said that the recent incidents in Kano State and Damaturu clearly underscored the need for increased, concerted efforts to end the insurgent activities, to save
the country from anarchy.
He, however, commended Kano State Government for the support and assistance it extended to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from the North-East.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Oyegun was accompanied by other national officers of the party.
