President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, has broken his silence on the protests against his victory in the presidential elections.
Demonstrators hit the streets in various cities across the
US for the second night, showing outrage over the Republican’s
unexpected win.
The second wave of demonstrations drew a few hundred people,
less than the thousands that gathered in various protests that surged
after it became clear Trump had won Tuesday’s election.
Trump went on Twitter Thursday night to hit back on the
protesters, claiming that “the media” was inciting “professional
protestors.”
He posted: “Just had a very open and successful
presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the
media, are protesting. Very unfair!“
Many Americans are wary of Trump over comments he made about immigrants, Muslims, women and others during his campaign.
But the businessman’s former campaign manager Kelly Conway has defended the president-elect saying he is capable of “uniting the country”.
