Famous striker Robin van Persie narrowly escaped a career-ending injury after his eye was bleeding.
The former forward of Arsenal and Manchester United opened the scoring for Fenerbahce before horrible clash with an opposition player in the first half.

The striker’s face was covered in blood and he was carried off the field before being taken away from the stadium in an ambulance.
Speaking about the 33-year-old’s injury, Fenerbahce’s doctor John Kunduracioglu noted:  “Van Persie received a blow to his eye, it was torn and bleeding. After investigating, we sent him to an ophthalmologist at the hopsital for further checks. We learned that nothing serious has happened, so the situation is good”

He added: “We had to wait for an ambulance. If the injury had been more serious, the situation could have been worse.”
